While his education was in jazz performance and mechanical engineering, Craig “Hoss” Colquhoun spent more than 30 years playing in Pipe Bands. During this time he has received numerous awards for Bass Drumming including 3 times Canadian, 3 times United States, 6 times North American and 3 times World Champion. All of these awards were accomplished by Craig using an instrument he crafted himself.

The music these boys made was used to introduce regiment activities as well as for pure entertainment. The boys also helped their units by cutting hair, carrying water and tending to the wounded.
